Anna Loehr
Growing up, the rushed and crowded weekdays were always intercepted by the calm and relaxed weekend breakfasts my parents would prepare for my siblings and me. My family and I would eat breakfast in our pajamas often in the middle of the day not paying the slightest attention to the time.
With morning classes, labs, and meetings, the most important meal of the day often becomes the most often skipped. A fast and easy breakfast can be made in the microwave with a few simple ingredients and just one bowl.
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup cooking oats
1/2 cup skim milk
1 teaspoon flax seeds
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
3 tablespoons honey
1 banana, peeled
DIRECTIONS:
Put oats, milk, flax seeds, walnuts, & honey, and banana in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook in microwave on High for 2 minutes. Stir banana into mixture. Serve hot. Enjoy!
